How CHAIN works
Connect the numbered nodes in order while following the rules shown for the current board. Some puzzles ask you to fill every available cell. Advanced boards can introduce obstacles and special rule cells; tap Rules during a puzzle for their meaning.
Hints and hearts
A hint reveals a correct continuation from your current position and costs one heart. Hearts regenerate automatically over time. Undo and restart are free, but corrections can affect precision and CHAIN IQ.
Progress and CHAIN IQ
Your CHAIN IQ reflects puzzle difficulty, speed, mistakes, hints, and whether it is your first solve. Progress is stored locally on your device. Replaying a puzzle cannot be used to endlessly farm IQ.
Lost or reset progress
CHAIN currently has no account or cloud sync. Deleting the app, clearing its data, or moving to another device may remove local progress. We cannot restore progress from a server because CHAIN does not upload it.
Sound, haptics, and motion
Sound and haptic feedback can be changed in CHAIN settings. System accessibility preferences such as Reduce Motion are respected where supported. On iPad, hardware haptic feedback may not be available.
A puzzle appears impossible
Use undo or restart, review the active rules, and make sure numbered nodes are visited in order. If a generated board still appears unsolvable, email its level number and a screenshot so it can be investigated.
