contact support

Email anthonyvvza@gmail.com. Include your iPhone model, iOS version, Pray First version, what you expected to happen, what actually happened, and any visible error message.

Do not email a prayer-check photo. Pray First support does not need your camera capture to troubleshoot normal verification issues.

app blocking does not start

  1. Open Pray First’s Block tab and confirm at least one app, category, or website is selected.
  2. Confirm Screen Time authorization is approved. If needed, reopen the picker and complete Apple’s permission flow.
  3. Check that the daily prayer schedule and scripture interruptions are enabled for the expected time window.
  4. Open Pray First once after restarting or updating the iPhone so schedules can refresh.
  5. If shields remain stuck after a completed ritual, open Pray First and let it refresh the protection state.

Apple controls the Family Controls permission and underlying shield system. Device configuration, managed-device policy, Screen Time restrictions, and iOS updates can affect availability.

prayer check cannot verify

  • Use even, front-facing light and keep the camera steady.
  • Keep your face, shoulders, chest area, and both wrists in frame.
  • Bring both hands intentionally together near your chest.
  • Check camera permission in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera.
  • Check your internet connection; the second verification step uses the OpenAI API.
  • Wait a moment and retry if the service is temporarily unavailable.

The app takes a still image when you tap the shutter and shows that image while checking. It does not save the capture. The check verifies only the visible pose—not belief or sincerity.

scripture pauses

Pray First schedules one, two, or three unexpected read-to-unlock moments per day according to the intensity and active window you choose. iOS may delay background events in some circumstances. Open the app periodically so upcoming schedules and notifications remain refreshed.

If a scripture pause and daily prayer are both due, completing the verse may still leave the daily prayer requirement active.

Bible and verse help

The app includes the complete public-domain World English Bible with 66 Protestant-canon books, 1,189 chapters, and 31,103 verses. It works offline. If a search or chapter view appears incomplete, close and reopen the Bible tab, then contact support with the exact book, chapter, and verse reference.

notifications do not arrive

  1. Enable notifications inside Pray First.
  2. Open iOS Settings > Notifications > Pray First and allow notifications.
  3. Check Focus modes, Scheduled Summary, and notification delivery settings.
  4. Open Pray First after changing prayer time or scripture intensity so it can reschedule alerts.

A notification is a reminder; the Screen Time shield and notification delivery are separate Apple systems and may not always occur at the exact same second.

subscription and billing

  • Restore: tap Restore Purchases on the paywall while signed in with the Apple Account used for purchase.
  • Manage or cancel: iOS Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Pray First.
  • Refund: use Apple’s Report a Problem. Apple decides refund eligibility.
  • Trial: only a trial displayed in the Apple purchase sheet and available to your Apple Account applies.

Deleting the app does not cancel billing. Read the full subscription terms.

data and privacy controls

Use “delete my data” in Pray First settings to remove your locally stored profile and prayer/scripture history. Clear protected apps in the Block tab to remove those selections, and revoke permissions in iOS Settings if desired. Deleting local data does not cancel a subscription or delete Apple’s transaction records.

See the step-by-step deletion guide and Privacy Policy.
